London

On Thursday Me and Tom trekked it to London, I'd bought him tickets to see M83 for his 21st in the summer and I jumped at the chance to take 2 days off work!! It was one of the best gigs I've ever been to, it finished pretty early which meant we had extra time to squeeze in drinks with my big brother....we spent the evening talking about hobby horses, one pound fish and drinking shots of cointreau. Oh I also accidentally invented something called the gardigan, which is wearing the guardian as a cardigan, don't pretend like you're not impressed.

Before we went to the gig we went for some cocktails in Seven bar in Brixton

As I mentioned in a previous post, this summer i spent building a 9 flight stair case (below is a picture of the staircase) It's in a private gallery in London called Marlborough Arts. It was right round the corner from the ritz, we were by far the scruffiest people in that part of London, we actually heard a woman talking about how embarrassed she was to be carrying a Sainsburys bag.

Bonfire Night

Thought I would take this mundane Wednesday evening to share some photos I took on Monday evening at Plymouth Bonfire night.
Considering Plymouth is pretty renowned for it firework displays, the little Bonfire night I used to go to back home in the Cotswold would easily give it a run for it money! Also, it was lacking the cynical spin that my dad puts on the evening, usually by his incessant moaning about being roped in to cook the sausage AGAIN! Or there hilariously embarrassing re-enactment of the Guy Fawkes being arrested and the lighting of the bonfire as he runs behind the stack of wood and everybody cheers in a "you did you best" kind of way!

Ben Howard

Last night me and Tom went to see Ben Howard at Plymouth Pavilions, it was such a fun night! Admittedly, in a crowd of 4000 my height impairment drastically reduced my visual field and I spent most of the evening staring blankly into the back of a very tall man but that only added to the excitement of the few times I managed to catch a glimpse of his hair (mighty fine hair at that)! Because we didn't feel like be subjected to the rip off drink prices in the arena and I wanted an excuse to use my birthday hip flask, we sneaked in some wine (classy birds).

Here's a picture of my outfit, looking especially 90's with the cropped top. I could have easily stepped off the set of Sabrina the Teenage Witch
(Top - Charity Shop, Jeans - Topshop, Shoes - New Look, Bag - Jumble sale)

It was really nice to hear him live, his sound with the band is so different from the recorded stuff on his album. Here is my favourite song from his new EP, it's a bit darker than his older stuff but I really like it, I'd go so far as to say I prefer it......

The Cotswolds

Good Morning lovely people,
This weekend Myself and my housemate Jenny took a little break from the student lifestyle and popped back to the Cotswolds to see my Mum and the cat. It was nice to have a reminder of what trees and fields look like, especially as the autumn colours have began to take a hold of the woods near my house.
On Saturday, we went for a wonder around the village and took advantage of the autumniness as a backdrop for some photos..

After spending the afternoon wandering round my favourite charity shops (I'll post pictures of what I bought soon), stuffing my face with cake and tea at a Cafe in Broadway and deafening my friends with my incessant talking, we headed home for some quality time with our onesies and the fire.

On Sunday, we went to visit my dad's Workshop. For those of you that don't know I spent my summer as an honorary Carpenter and helped my dad build a 9 flight staircase for a private Gallery in london. I took this photo of our coffees and I thought it looked all Arty, although when i showed the Tom he thought I gone mental showing him a photo of some mugs....

Later that afternoon, we continued on the theme of stuffing our faces and went for the most delicious sunday roast in all of the world, at a place called the Saxon Mill in Warwick.
